2nd Grade

 

1.      Students will plan and implement a service project for the community.  (theme 2)

2.      Students will present a performance based project on a Native American tribe based on the tribe's relationship to the environment.  (theme 4)  (multicultural)

3.      Students will participate orally in frequent current event discussions and relate them to their lives.  (theme 4, all themes)

4.      Students will write an example of a home or school rule and a law that all citizens must follow.  (theme 1)

5.      Students will write to a government leader. (president, governor or mayor)  (theme 1)

6.      Students will create a project (poster, booklet, powerpoint, etc.) of a famous American who created social change.  (multicultural)  (theme 3)

7.      Students will identify the geographic location of continents and oceans of the world,  their country and its neighbors and Nebraska and its neighboring states.  (theme 5)

8.      Students will celebrate our Statehood Day through interactive sharing of states other than our own.  (theme 5)  "CultureGrams"

9.      Students will develop an awareness of language diversity in our country and world.  (all themes)
