NSA 1 - 1. TLW create solutions as they develop ideas toward a final product.

NSA 1 - 2. TLW test out the idea to see what works.

NSA 4 - 3. TLW study about people in all cultures and what art they make.

NSA 5 - 4. TLW communicate ideas, personal interpretation of an art piece, how and why they interpreted an image, and knowledge choices to communicate through their own art.

NSA 5 - 5. TLW categorize by genre: still life, landscape, portrait, figurative, abstract, non-objective, etc.

NSA 1, 2, 5 - 6. TLW know art elements and design principles to create art.

NSA 5, 6 - 7. TLW know and identify art elements in their own art works and others: line, shape, texture, value, color, space, and form.

NSA 1, 2, 3 - 8. TLW understand Design principles used to put together an image: emphasis, movement, pattern, contrast, balance, rhythm, unity, and variety.

NSA 5 - 9. TLW work with and acquire technical skills in a range of art media.

NSA 5 - 10. TLW understand that art is studied in disciplines: drawing, painting, sculpture, crafts, architecture, etc.

NSA 5 - 11. TLW explore which processes, media, and techniques are effective in communicating ideas.

NSA 1, 2 - 12. TLW use materials and tools in a safe and responsible manner.

NSA 6 - 13. TLW use art connects with language, history, math, science, music, theater, dance, etc.

NSA 6 - 14. TLW develop critical thinking skills by reflecting upon images with others.

NSA 6 - 15.  TLW develop awareness of what they have learned and need to know more about through self-assessment.

NSA 6 - 16. TLW compare individual responses to art problems.
